Oregon is in the middle of a budget crisis. But instead of reining in overspending on large projects and protecting our neighbors in a shaky economy, the state gutted the programs we rely on to get to work, school, and the doctor. Lawmakers chose to solve it by cutting programs that are already underfunded, including Safe Routes to School, Community Paths, Transportation Operation Funds that fund community charging, passenger rail, paths, and para-transit.
