Oregon’s Transportation Package will impact climate and community! Your comments are key.
Motor vehicle emissions are the biggest chunk of our state’s climate and health harming pollution, and Oregon is about to make some big transportation decisions that will affect us for years to come. That’s why we’re part of Move Oregon Forward, a coalition of transportation safety, climate, and environmental justice organizations from across the state working together to improve our transportation system. An improved transportation package is key to our goals of climate solutions and justice, public health and green communities. Today, will you tell your legislators that we need a 2025 transportation package that works for ALL Oregonians?
Decision makers are starting from a framework that falls short on what we need. We need fair funding, accountability, and more robust investments in safety, transit, and pollution reduction. Legislators need to hear from us that the stakes are too high to settle for less.
Move Oregon Forward has made taking action easy.

We all have to go to work or school, the doctor’s office or the grocery store. But right now, our transportation system doesn’t work for a lot of people. Right now, people die on our streets, air pollution makes us sick, costs are high, and options are limited.
But in the future we envision together, kids safely walk, bike, or ride the bus to school, older adults can stroll without fear, and communities enjoy vibrant neighborhoods with cleaner air and affordable transportation choices. Thanks for making your voice heard so that every Oregonian has better, safer, cleaner ways to get where they need to go.

The 2025 legislative session is coming to a close, and that means legislators are negotiating the energy affordability bills and transportation package. We need to show legislators that Oregonians support climate resilience in both transportation and energy, and Letters to the Editor are great ways to do that and influence others to take action too!
This Thursday’s Letter to the Editor workshop is a joint action by both Move Oregon Forward and the Building Resilience Coalition. We know that both buildings and transportation are keys parts of climate solutions and justice, building green communities, and improving public health. Oregonians like us can make a huge difference by sharing our clean energy, climate resilience, and transportation stories. and our voices can still be heard as legislators make their final decisions.
Would you or someone you know be interested in stepping up to write a Letter to the Editor to your local newspaper or another publication?
Join the workshop and/or spread the word!
Thank you for taking climate action!
