Action Alert
An essential part of climate action is making sure people have safe spaces during extreme heat, wildfire, and other climate events we’re already experiencing. Submit your testimony here by Thursday, February 6 at 8am. https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2025R1/Testimony/HCEE/HB/3170/0000-00-00-00-00?area=Measures asking the Oregon House Committee on Community, Energy, and Climate to support Resilience Hubs (HB 3170). Black History Month
“The 2025 Black History Month theme is African Americans and Labor, which focuses on the various and profound ways that work and working of all kinds – free and unfree, skilled and unskilled, vocational and voluntary – intersect with the collective experiences of Black people and the transformational work that we have done throughout the U.S., Africa, and the Diaspora.” Black History Month 2025: We Proclaim It. | ASALH
In this spirit, Climate Reality Project Portland Chapter encourages members to learn or re-learn about the work of local Black-led organizations towards a healthier and more sustainable world, and the history of the environmental justice movement, birthed by the labor of many including Hazel M. Johnson.
