April Chapter Meeting: Bridging Divides

Join us at 7 pm Tuesday April 21 on zoom! Register now

Our guest speaker Bill Howe— founder of the SAGE Citizen Project and accomplished family lawyer— will give a 20 minute presentation about the cause and degree of the current state of political polarization and how it creates policy gridlock, undermines democratic institutions, and sabotages personal relationships, followed by outlining the social science research that suggests what individuals and organizations can do to work across differences so communities can move forward in a productive way and solve problems.

Following the presentation, we’ll discuss how what we learned in Bridging Divides can facilitate more fruitful climate and climate justice communication. The Yale Climate Change Opinion Survey results show that a large majority of people in Oregon and across the country are worried about global warming and want solutions: how do we communicate across race/class/political differences to move forward our shared goals?

We’ll also have time at the end for Chapter updates and questions, and Reality Hub troubleshooting. See you there!

More on Bill Howe and the presentation on the meeting registration page.
